Trisha Cornwell
HERO Board Position: Treasurer & Secretary
Trisha Cornwell brings over a decade of experience in accounting, financial management, and process improvement to her role with HERO. With leadership experience in both the services and healthcare sectors, she has served as Controller and Director, specializing in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and team development.
Military/Veteran Information: Trisha comes from a proud military family, including her grandfather who served in the Navy, her uncle in the Marine Corps, and her cousin in the Army. This deep connection fuels her passion for supporting veterans and giving back through meaningful service.
Occupation: Trisha has led initiatives that streamline month-end close processes, implement accounting and payroll software, and improve reporting accuracy—resulting in reduced days sales outstanding (DSO) and more timely financial insights. In her role at HERO, she provides financial stewardship and administrative support to ensure the organization can carry out its mission of healing and connection through outdoor experiences.
Education: She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Iowa and an MBA from the University of Dubuque.
