Ruck for a Cause (Date change from May to August)

August 8 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

A community ruck at the HERO Lodge

Walk with a purpose. Move together. Make an Impact.

Join us for Ruck for a Cause, a meaningful community ruck that brings together veterans, families, and supporters of all experience levels.

Participants will carry a weighted backpack (“ruck”) while walking a designated route – but this is not about speed or competition. Rucking is about connection, resilience, and showing up for one another.

Whether you’re honoring a veteran, supporting HERO’s mission or simply looking for a new challenge. This event is designed for everyone.

Why We Ruck

At HERO, we believe healing happens through connection, time outdoors and shared experiences. This ruck is more than just a walk — it’s a way to stand along side those who have served and the families who support them.

Distance Options

Carry what feels right for you, go at your own page and be part of a community that shows up for each other.

  • 1-Mile Easy Community Route
A mostly flat route around the front property and pond area. Ideal for families, youth participants, first-time ruckers, and anyone looking for a lighter experience while still being part of the event.
  • 3-Mile Moderate Ruck
A moderately challenging route that includes varied terrain. Participants may encounter areas that encourage working together as a team, helping one another navigate obstacles and elevation changes.
  • 5-Mile Moderate-to-Challenging Ruck (Optional)
Will be an extension off the 3-Mile Ruck fro those looking to go further. Designed for participants seeking a more physically demanding experience. This route includes moderately challenging terrain, with sections where teamwork, communication, and mutual support may be required.

All routes are non-competitive and self-paced. Participants may walk or ruck; jogging is optional where terrain allows.
