Winter Family Day & Soup Cook-Off

Join HERO for a Winter Family Day designed to bring veterans, current service members, and their families together for connection, fun, and support in the great outdoors.

This family-friendly day will offer a variety of activities for all ages—based on weather conditions. Outdoor activities may include ice fishing, hiking, building snowmen, and other winter adventures, so families are encouraged to dress warmly and come prepared for outdoor fun.

Inside the lodge, guests can warm up with hot chocolate and soup, enjoy arts and crafts, and connect with resources available for spouses and significant others who support our veterans and service members.

To add to the day, we invite participants to take part in a Bring-Your-Own Soup Cook-Off. Bring your favorite homemade soup to share, taste, and celebrate some friendly competition while enjoying good food and great company.

This event is about creating meaningful connections, supporting the whole family, and enjoying time together—no matter the weather.
